The Kent is perfect for those who want a well thought out chicken coop that can hold up to 4 or 5 medium sized chickens and also want the option of a separate run that can be either fixed permanently to the coop or simply pushed up against it to give you total control of your flock if and when you need it.

Kent Coop with run

With over 11 square feet of space the large Kent Run allows your hens an enclosed outside area to roam around during the day. The newly redesigned run can now also be easily extended should the need arise.

Coop with large run

The run has also been fitted with a much higher grade type of wire mesh. In fact, the heavy duty wire mesh is 50% thicker than most of the other online suppliers.

Thick Chicken Wire

This increase in wire quality and thickness makes the run more secure. It has also been set into the wooden framework which adds to the rigidity of the run structure.

Accessing various areas of the run without disturbing your hens is easy too thanks to a large foldable roof panel, as well as wide lockable doors on either side of the run.

Easy to clean chicken coop

Accessing all areas of the coop is also an important feature we wanted to have so we added a lift up roof which is held in place by metal stays - which makes accessing, as well as cleaning the internal areas of the coop that much easier.

We have designed the Kent to be as easy to clean as possible. With this in mind the coop comes with a large removable pull out tray, as well as a removable slatted floor in the nesting box.

Chicken Coop Kent

The front opening hinged door doubles as a little ramp for your hens and allows them to enter and exit the housing area. This can be closed at night. The housing area is also raised off the ground which will keep mud and dampness out of the hen house.

Kent Coop

On both sides of the Kent coop are 2 narrow ventilation windows situated just under the roof overlap allowing for the necessary ventilation of the coop without the worry of it becoming too drafty.

Inside they have two large perch on which to roost at night, as well as a cosy nesting box that has been divided into two compartments, where they can lay their eggs.

Quality Chicken Coop

The Kent coop comes with a removable external run which has been constructed using thick and rigid wire which is set deep into the framework.

High quality woodwork with strong joints - means that the hen house won't fall apart if you move it around.

A large opening roof with special hinges which keep it open - makes it a breeze to access the internal areas of the coop

Large removable tray collects your hens waste - and makes cleaning a much quicker process.

Multiple access points - get to any area of the coop or run without the worry of your hens escaping.

Handy nesting box lift up lid - which allows you to collect your freshly laid eggs without disturbing your hen

"I am impressed."

I am impressed with your customer follow up. I'm not a first timer, but an older person, with quite a lot of chicken owning behind me, but stopped for a couple of years because of mole trouble, and got rid of a heavy ark with seized up wheels. I think the design of the Kent coop shows that you have sussed out several problems I have encountered in the past. For instance the opening in the top of the run.Thank you for such good service.

"Quality product, reasonably priced, with excellant service"

I did alot of research before settling on the Kent Coop. I had to wait for delivery for a few weeks due to increased interest in chicken keeping, but it was definately worth the wait. The delivery went very well, the company were always very prompt at replying to any e-mails I sent. One of the main reasons for buying with Chicken Coops direct was the quality that came across, and I was not disappointed. I am very happy with my new coop and would definatley recommend Chicken Coops Direct to anyone who wants a quality product, reasonably priced, with excellant service. Many thanks again.

"The assembly instructions were simple and straightforward."

I am happy to comment on my experience with chicken coops direct. i recently purchased their 'Kent coop' and found the whole experience simple, straightforward and trouble free. I was kept up to date by their team through each stage from purchase to delivery. The assembly instructions were simple and straightforward and the coop was built in a very short space of time with no missing parts (unusual with many flat pack purchases nowadays) The quality was at least as good as described and i now have four very happy young chickens who have been in residence for just over three weeks and have, last weekend, provided their first eggs. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to any friends, family or indeed anyone looking for a hasssle free way to purchase a good quality, good priced, coop for chickens. -Thank you to the chicken coops direct team for a first rate service!!!

"We found the whole thing so easy"

We bought the Kent coop and run. We order this item on Saturday morning and it arrived on the following Tuesday. We found the whole thing so easy we received emails from chicken coops advising when the coop and run would be delivered and found them very friendly. We now have 3 Ex Bats happily living in there new home, and would recommend Chicken Coops direct.

"It's beautifully made"

I am delighted with the coop and my hens seem to approve also. As someone who has in the past battled with self-builds I must admit to some apprehension before the goods arrived, but I was surprised and very pleased at how easy it was to build the coop and the run. Its beautifully made, all the holes in the right place and no missing screws or nuts. It only required help of a friend when it came to joining the run onto the coop. Otherwise it was all my own work! It’s been a very positive experience shopping with your company, all my emails have been replied to promptly and I also appreciate the advice given on choosing and looking after my hens.

"The Kent coop attracted our attention because of the design"

We have been keeping chickens for a good few years now and have began to breed our own. We were looking for a secure coop to keep a mother hen in with her chicks. Many of the broody coops on the market are simply too small for a hen and her chicks and as a result the mother hen gets stressed. Your Kent coop fitted the bill perfectly. The delivery was prompt and the instructions easy to follow. The Kent coop attracted our attention because of the design such as a pull out lined droppings tray and easy access to the house and nest box. It will be ideal for keeping the young birds in until they a big enough to mix with the flock.

"Pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the wood and of the finish."

We received the Kent coop last week and were very pleased that it arrived promptly and well wrapped. We opened it up at the weekend to 'oohs' and 'aahs', we were very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the wood and of the finish.

I've seen other people's coops and the quality of the finish on this one was so superior, we've nicknamed it 'Cluckingham Palace'. We have found the follow up emails that you sent, really useful and informative. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your site to anyone who is thinking about getting chickens. Thank you very much indeed. With best wishes Linda and Dominic Bradley

p.s. Our two little chickens, Fabergé and Gertie, will be the most spoiled chickens ever. I just hope it doesn't go to their heads!

Our wooden coops are treated with a base coat of wood preservative. The wood we use in this product is a highly durable and scented softwood which is noted for its resistance to decay and rot.

As with all outdoor wooden structures we strongly recommend that you treat your coop with a high quality varnish or wood preservative before exposing it to the elements and that you re-treat it at least once a year (preferably before the winter season) to maintain the applied preservative and water repellent properties. We also recommend that you try and position your chicken coopin a protected area which is not overly exposed to the elements.

Click here for our product care guidelines and recommended products.

We would like to think that our coops are made to a higher standard than most other suppliers in this price range. While we have purposely used thicker, sturdier wood, wire and locks with the aim to make it as safe and secure as possible for your chickens we cannot absolutely guarantee that foxes and other predators wont try and target them.

Foxes are by far the biggest threat that your pets will face so if you are going to keep your chickens then we also urge you to take these added precautions especially if you know you have foxes in your area.
