The Kent Chicken Coop

The Kent Coop is the latest addition to our range of wooden hen houses and is made from the same durable semi hardwood we use in our other popular models. With over 19 square feet of combined space this coop provides enough room for 3 to 4 hens, more if you keep bantams.

The Kent is perfect for those who want a house that can be moved about the garden (with a bit of care and a spare pair of hands) and it comes in two separate parts - the hen house and the detachable external run.

We have designed the Kent to be as easy to clean as possible. With this in mind the coop comes with a large removable pull out tray, as well as a removable slatted floor in the nesting box.

Accessing all areas of the coop is also an important feature we wanted and so have added a lift up roof which is held in place by handy galvanized stays - which makes accessing, as well as cleaning the internal areas of the coop that much easier.

On the side, 2 narrow ventilation windows situated just under the roof overlap allow for adequate ventilation without the worry of the coop becoming drafty. The housing area is also raised off the ground which will keep mud and dampness out of the hen house, while preventing any other animals from getting in.

The front opening hinged door doubles as a little ramp for your hens and allows them to enter and exit the housing area. Inside they will find 2 large perches on which to roost at night, as well as a cosy nesting box that has been divided into two compartments, where they can lay their eggs.

The detachable external run which fits snugly up against the house gives you the added benefit of being able to leave your hens during the day and still allow them to roam around in a safe and secure environment. Being able to move the coop means that your hens can have access to new areas of the garden where they can peck and hunt for food.

We have added a opening top section which will allow you to access any feeders or drinkers without disrupting your flock, as well as a lockable side door should you need access nearer the actual coop.
