The Devon is a fantastic looking hen house and has an amazing
number of handy features that make it a real favourite among a

with plenty of attention to detail.
This traditional hen house and run has been lovingly
crafted from scented softwood. Pressure treated and dipped in
an animal friendly wood preservative before leaving the factory,
ensures that it will not only looks fantastic in your garden but
is also guaranteed to last for many years. This chicken house
is able to house up to 5 to 6 medium sized chickens
Improvements to our design make the 'new look' Devon
hen house even easier than ever before to use, as far as collecting
eggs goes. All you do is open up the nest box, and collect your
eggs in a matter of minutes without disturbing your flock. A handy
wooden stay that won't rust or jam allows you to keep the nesting
box lid open, freeing up your hands.
The Devon hen house is also one of the easiest to
clean because it comes with a large fully removable metal tray.
All you do is simply slide the tray out and it can then be sprayed
off and washed.This sure beats having to enter the hen house yourself
and wash everything in a confined space.
The nesting box can also be easily unbolted from
the side of the house should you need to gain access for cleaning.
The large nesting box also has 3 cosy areas which
will allow your hens the perfect place to lay, ensuring that you
are rewarded with a constant and fresh supply every morning. Inside
you will also see that there are now 3 separate perches and plenty
of room for all your chickens.
Another great feature that this model has to offer is that it
is raised off the ground. This will keep mud and dampness out
of the hen house, while making it more difficult for any other
animals to get in. The rubber soles will also keep the wood from
rotting, so you can trust that this hen house will last for years.
The handy runs can be securely attached to the Devon hen house
using the screws supplied or simply pushed up flush against it
if you prefer a less permanent run area for your hens. The large
lockable doors gives you easy access to the run sections should
you wish to change your chickens' water or top up a feeder with
food.
You can also choose to join the two runs together to make one
extra long run like the image above. This is done easily by removing
the square end panel on one of the runs and screwing the two runs
together with the 'A' screws supplied - a bit of simple DIY.

Maintenance:
Our wooden coops are treated with a base coat of wood preservative.
This is only a base coat and will last up to three months after
purchase. As with all outdoor wooden structures we strongly recommend
that you treat your coop with a high quality varnish or wood preservative
as soon as possible and that you re-treat your hen house at least
once a year (preferably before the winter season) to maintain
the applied preservative and water repellent properties.
Packaging:
The Devon hen house and run is supplied flat packed for easy
home assembly. The build time for this unit is approximately 30
- 60 minutes.
