| The Dorset Chicken Coop The Dorset is a very neat and compact all-in-one chicken coop which includes a fully covered and secure chicken run. The Dorset has a metal lined pull out tray for easy cleaning. A big front door allowing you to enter the run, and a smaller door with 4 perspex windows allows plenty of light into the coop, keeping it well lit during the day, as well as giving you another access point. The run also features a handy sliding door that can be easily operated from the outside, so you'll never have to opening up the main door of the run in order to let the chickens out. This is a safety feature that many other coop manufacturers do not have. A small ramp inside the run makes it easy for your hens to get in and out of the hen house. The nesting area of the coop is raised off the ground, to prevents rats and other rodents from entering, and at the same time, keeps the dampness out of the coop, ensuring a healthier environment for your chickens.
The run of the coop is made with strong galvanized wire which means that your chickens cannot get out and foxes cannot get in. This unit is made from a superior quality semi hardwood which has been specially treated, so it will stand up to the elements for years to come. This is only a base coat and will last up to three months after purchase. As with all outdoor wooden structures we strongly recommend that you treat your coop with a high quality varnish or wood preservative as soon as possible and that you re-treat your hen house at least once a year (preferably before the winter season) to maintain the applied preservative and water repellent properties. For me the customer service and quality of product were the most impressive points. Slight problem with delivery but Mike responded immediatley and then followed it up to ensure that all was well.I constructed the coop 10 days ago and, although the plans are basic, it was easy to do and took approximately 50 mins.Impressive wood quality and finish. Last week I went about looking for chicken coops online as a bithday present for my other half. He's wanted chickens his whole life, but his parents believed they were too much hassle, and being a farm girl myself I knew that they were actually fun and easy to keep. Well what can i say, the service was excellent got emails updating me.the delivery man was so helpfull put the boxes where i ask him to. the dorset coop was so easy to put together 40 mins max, it is made of good quality wood and everything fits so well,it looks great in my garden fit for my little girls. i would recommend this company highly.thank you
I am absolutely delighted with the Dorset coop. The delivery was handled very efficiently, and it arrived on the day promised. Although the hens aren't in it yet, it is built and sited. My DH said it went together very easily, and the only alteration was adding a handle to the run door, to make it easier for me to pull open. Top marks for this product!
