A perfect add-on for the Devon Hen House, the Devon run is made from the same high-quality wood that we use in all our chicken coops and gives your hens over 11.5 square feet of run space.

A perfect add-on to our new Devon Hen House, the Devon run allows you to give your chickens a safe and secure area to freely stretch their legs.

Devon chicken run with door open

This hen run is made from the same high-quality wood that we use in all our coops. At 130 cm in length and 83m wide each Devon Run gives your hens over 11 square feet of space.

thick chicken wire run

The run (with its thicker than normal wire mesh) can be permanently attached to the hen house using the screws provided or simply pushed up close against your coop.

Devon double run

You can also easily attach two (as shown above) , three or even four Devon Runs together to create a extra long, safe and secure run for your hens.

strong locks

Two large opening doors allow you convenient access from any side, and it can be securely closed with the two handy bolts found on each door.

Devon chicken run

At around 13 kgs the hen run is light enough to lift on your own, yet strong enough to withstand regular moving. And you can make yours as long as you need simply by joining each extra run onto the end of the other.

Where can we deliver to?

Orders can be delivered anywhere in mainland England, Wales, and most areas in the lowlands of Scotland. If you live outside these areas we then, unfortunately, cannot deliver our products to you. This includes the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland (IM, GY, JE, BT)

Like most online companies we rely on (3rd party) courier companies to deliver all our orders around the country. As much as we would love to get our products in the hands of as many people as possible the cost of getting our coops to anyone who lives outside mainland England and Wales is prohibitive - sometimes more than the actual cost of the product!

Delivery to Scotland

We can deliver to most lowland areas in Scotland. These include the following postcodes: DD1-7 , DG , EH , FK1-6 , G , KA1-26 , KA29-30 , KY , ML , PA1-19 , PH1-2, TD

If you live outside these areas then unfortunately, we are unable to offer delivery due to the high extra charges levied by the courier companies we use. You are welcome to arrange your own courier to collect from us, or we can deliver the items to a courier up north for onward journey to you.

Delivery to the Isle of Wight

The courier company that we use can deliver to the Isle of Wight. However, there is a delivery surcharge of £70 per order.

*This is an estimate based on the majority of orders sent, however, we cannot absolutely guarantee it.

1. Can I join a single Devon Run onto the one I already have?

Yes, you can join as many runs together to form as long a run as you like. It's just a matter of leaving off the square end panel on the run that is joining the one in front. The Devon Run comes with all the necessary screws and instructions to do this. It quite straight forward.

2. How do I purchase a Double Devon Run?

The double Devon Run is simply two single runs joined together with the end panel of one of the runs left off. If you wish to purchase the Double you just need to order 2 x single Devon Runs.

3. How does the run attach to the coop?

Screws are supplied to secure it to the coop but you can just leave it pushed up against it if it safe to do so. Some customers use these hook and eye latches which allow you to secure the run to your coop for security and then simply unhook the run if every you need to move it.

4. Is the wood treated?

Yes, the Devon Run comes with a light base coat of wood preservative

But as with all outdoor wooden structures in our harsh climate, we recommend that the timber is treated on a regular basis to ensure a long life.

If the coop is treated, to begin with, and thereafter on a yearly basis, and is well looked after and cleaned regularly there is no reason why a lifespan of 5 to 7 years could not be expected.

There are many popular products available with Cuprinol and Ronseal amongst the better-known brands. If you are looking for a clear wood preserver that will keep the colour of your coop then try this.

5. Is the Devon Run fox-proof?

We would like to think that our coops and runs are made to a higher standard than most other suppliers in this price range. While we have purposely used thicker, sturdier wood, wire and locks with the aim to make it as safe and secure as possible for your chickens we cannot absolutely guarantee that foxes and other predators won’t try and target them. Foxes are by far the biggest threat that your pets will face so if you are going to keep your chickens then we also urge you to take these added precautions especially if you know you have foxes in your area.
