Our 5 Most Common Questions Answered.

  • I want to order a coop but I don't think I will be at home to receive my delivery. Can you help?

If you’re out when our couriers try to deliver your coop they’ll leave a ‘We’re holding a delivery for you’ card at the delivery address. This card gives you a telephone number of their local delivery office. Just give them a quick call along with any reference numbers on the card and they will arrange to redeliver the coop at a time that is convenient to you and at no extra cost.

  • If I order today when will I get my coop?

If you order before 12pm Mon to Thursday we will dispatch your coop that same day on a next day delivery - so you would get it the following day before 4pm. If an order is placed on a Friday you could expect it to arrive on Monday and if the order is placed over the weekend - Tuesday would be the day that you could expect it.

  • Can you deliver to another address other than the one on my card?

We can but it does put us at a bit of a risk. Basically, we are covered by a payment guarantee policy which helps protect us from chargebacks and fraudulent purchases. But if we deliver to an address that doesn't correspond with that of the one you use during checkout , we no longer have any cover. The best thing is to contact us first.

  • How much space must I give my chickens? I keep getting conflicting advice!

The debate about the amount of space your hens will need or should have really comes down to personal
preference and how you feel. We have taken feedback from customers (like you) as to what to recommend to people. We work on between 2 and 3 square feet of space per bird. (2 for medium and 3 for the large sized hens). We feel, based on feedback, that recommending more birds and less space wouldn't be fair. However, if you take the opinion of the poultry club of the UK which has been around since 1877 they recommend just 1 square foot per bird.

We prefer to be guided by our customers and what we feel is a fair amount of space for each bird. You should be aware though there are suppliers of coops out there that claim "This coop holds up to 8 birds!!!!" - don't be mislead. Get the dimensions and do the calculations yourself.

  • Can you deliver to Ireland / Scotland / Isle of Wight / before 12 pm?
